We're extremely proud to unveil our latest set of homes to be delivered as part of our Watford Social Rent Programme with Watford Borough Council.
This development at Chesham Way was overseen by Jarvis Contracting and is comprised of 6 spacious three-bedroom houses, all with private gardens, off-street parking and modern fittings throughout.
In light of the overbearing need for high-quality, inexpensive homes in Hertfordshire, we want to improve access to social housing, which is notoriously oversubscribed across the UK.
Elected Mayor Peter Taylor met with Tina Barnard, our Chief Executive, to mark the completion of the site, a testament to the value in our partnership working with Watford Borough Council.
Speaking at the event, Tina said: “We’re committed to the continued provision of good-quality social housing in Hertfordshire – it’s especially important at a time when inflation is on the rise and many residents have experienced a loss of income or support due to the pandemic. I’m extremely proud of our efforts in planning and developing these sites and I look forward to more of the same in 2022!”
Peter added: “The cornerstone of a strong community is good housing - when we provide affordable homes for our local families who have been priced out of the housing market, we are enabling them to flourish and grow. Without stable shelter things can fall apart for people very quickly - that’s why projects like Chesham Way are so important not just for the families who will live in the homes, but for us as a society. This is why affordable housing provision remains a key priority for me.”
Chesham Way is just one of several developments which will provide 56 homes for social rent across Watford before Spring 2022.
