On Tuesday 11 February, our Leavesden Green Community Hub was home to the grand opening event for Radfield Home Care Watford and Borehamwood.
Radfield Home Care provides support to older people across the country and have just expanded their much-needed day care service to Watford.
At the launch event, guests took part in chair exercises, crafts and a quiz and got a hot meal from Health and Independent Living Support (HILS), giving them a taster of what to expect from the full sessions.
Among the guests were Lynne Misner, founder of Small Acts of Kindness, who gave a heartfelt message about spreading kindness and making a positive impact in the community, and Peter Taylor, Elected Mayor of Watford, who spoke about his passion for community development and projects like this one. They were also joined by representatives from Watford Community Housing, One Vision, local councillors and many more.
Lavanya Gamsani, Owner and Director of the Watford and Borehamwood office, said:
“Our group is designed to promote social interaction, respite for the carers/clients, mental stimulation and overall wellbeing.
“By doing a well-structured programme of chair exercises, crafts, bingo, and other engaging activities we are providing a space to support mobility and cognitive health.
“We look forward to creating a safe, supportive and welcoming space in Watford where unforgettable memories will be made!”
These sessions run every Tuesday from 10am to 2pm at Leavesden Green Community Hub. Those who require personalised care will receive a tailored care plan to suit their individual needs.
