Following the recent refurbishment of Hollytree House’s communal kitchen, members of Courtlands Residents’ Association together with Nascot Residents’ Association – aptly named Nascourt – had an idea to make great use of these wonderful facilities by hosting their monthly lunch club here, with the aim of bringing together their community with the Hollytree tenants.
We were invited along to their ‘practice run’ to see how the fresh new kitchen could handle the lunch club numbers!
With the new kitchen offering not only great facilities but a wonderful amount of space, lunch club service was a breeze, with staff and Nascourt members alike enjoying the summery atmosphere with a fresh menu to match.
Lynn Wheeler, our Senior Scheme Officer, joined the club for lunch and enthused over the opportunity to bring community activities to Hollytree House, saying: “It’s so worthwhile for the tenants here, providing a cooked meal… a lot of members had joined the group as they felt isolated and lonely at home and they look forward to meeting up with their friends at the monthly lunch.”
It’s great to see the new kitchen at Hollytree bring so much life to the lounge and we can’t wait to hear how the Lunch Club settle into their new surroundings.
