Working in partnership with Three Rivers District Council (TRDC) and a number of other key local organisations, we’ve unveiled a brand-new range of brilliant services at our Hillside Community Hub in Abbots Langley!

Employment guidance, skills development, health and wellbeing advice and support are just some of the services now on offer in School Mead.

This is a fantastic example of collaborative working as we’ve teamed up with TRDC and a range of outreach services including Citizens Advice, Herts Mind Network and Three Rivers Healthy Hub. It ensures that our hub is now home to an array of useful services for the local community.

Julie Wittich, our interim group director of operations says: "We’re thrilled to be working with our partners to provide this space so that a range of vital services and support can be made available to people in the local community, including many of our customers.

“As a community gateway housing association, we’re committed to making a real difference and helping to build strong, cohesive and prosperous communities through partnership working."

Every Tuesday residents can access the Ascend Job Club or enrol on Ascend skill development courses, whilst Wednesdays provide a range of courses and activities to improve health and wellbeing.

On Thursday afternoons there is a drop-in service available for people experiencing or wishing to understand more about domestic abuse, offering invaluable advice and guidance on the subject.

Also present at the unveiling was Councillor Sarah Nelmes, Leader of Three Rivers District Council, who commented: "The pandemic has impacted people in a number of ways, from jobs to relationships, mental health to money struggles. This new hub will pull together a range of employment, health and well-being services under one roof, making it easier for local residents to get access to the support and advice they need in a joined-up way."

Along with our funding, Abbots Langley Parish Council, Three Rivers District Council, Watford and Three Rivers Trust, and Hertfordshire County Council have all contributed to make this project a resounding success.
